What distinguishes the Earth from the other planets in the solar system is the atmosphere that surrounds it, and the presence of the atmosphere and the stability of its components depends on the continuation of life as is customary. That the main components of the atmosphere stable since a long time “tens of thousands of years.”

Ozone layer

The ozone layer is a layer in Earth’s atmosphere which contains relatively high concentrations of ozone (O3). This layer absorbs 93-99% of the sun’s high frequency ultraviolet light, which is potentially damaging to life on earth.

Over 91% of the ozone in Earth’s atmosphere is present here. It is mainly located in the lower portion of the stratosphere from approximately 10 km to 50 km above Earth, though the thickness varies seasonally and geographically. The ozone layer was discovered in 1913 by the French physicists Charles Fabry and Henri Buisson. Its properties were explored in detail by the British meteorologist G. M. B. Dobson, who developed a simple spectrophotometer (the Dobsonmeter) that could be used to measure stratospheric ozone from the ground. Between 1928 and 1958 Dobson established a worldwide network of ozone monitoring stations which continues to operate today. The “Dobson unit”, a convenient measure of the columnar density of ozone overhead, is named in his honor.

Air Pollution Causes and Effects

History

Humans probably first experienced harm from air pollution when they built fires in poorly ventilated caves. Since then we have gone on to pollute more of the earth’s surface. Until recently, environmental pollution problems have been local and minor because of the Earth’s own ability to absorb and purify minor quantities of pollutants. The industrialization of society, the introduction of motorized vehicles, and the explosion of the population, are factors contributing toward the growing air pollution problem. At this time it is urgent that we find methods to clean up the air. » Read more: Air Pollution Causes and Effects

THE MOON

Moon is similar to the planets in many respects with a capacity of
3485 km

This alone is enough to cum in the list of planets, the moon bigger than Pluto,
which is slightly smaller than Mercury, but the moon in orbit around the Earth
and not around the sun like the rest of the planets

So the moon is an affiliate of the Earth and not a planet. » Read more: Vast information about the moon with Pic
